Sara qualified from University of Hertfordshire in 2006. She completed her junior rotations in the community which developed her assessment and treatment skills and initiated her interest in neurology.
Sara returned to Addenbrookes in 2008 for her senior in-patient rotations, further specialising in neurology and respiratory. Sara gained qualifications in teaching and took up a training and development post before leaving to become a private practitioner.
Sara joined Askham in 2015 as a locum but enjoyed working and developing the service at Askham that took up the post of Clinical Lead in 2018. Sara has continued to work hard and develop the therapy team at Askham.
Sara continues to enjoy education and development and has undertaken many courses, including aquatic therapy accreditation and leadership courses.
Sara has two young children and has a love for being outdoors, reading and wine.

Luke is a registered nurse who has worked in all levels and areas within care.
Luke’s nursing career began in the British Army where he worked in a number of unique and challenging environments. During Luke’s time in the British he worked in; Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Defence Military Group – Frimley Park, Deference Military Rehabilitation Centre – Headley Court, and 2 Medical Regiment. Along with providing expeditionary medicine overseas.
Luke found a passion for Neurological Rehabilitation when working at DMRC, Headley Court.
Luke quickly took to this area of care, became the Lead Neuro Nurse working with all the sailors, soldiers and airmen.
Luke left the Army in September 2018, looking for geographic security and what he describes as a “normal life”.
A “Normal life” for Luke was working as the Home Manager of a large care provider along with fathering twins.
Luke is currently participating as a co-applicant on a NIHR Public Health Research Programme, advising from a care home context RE: Interventions to Improve the Uptake of the Influenza Vaccination. The project is titled FluCare: Evaluating a complex intervention to increase care home staff influenza vaccination rates.

Bev looks after a complex set of residents. Focussing on the role of the family in supporting patients to progress towards their goals, Bev positively encourages staff to support when family are not present, motivating residents to follow through on their rehabilitation.
