Brain Injury
Acquired Brain Injury is a catch-all phrase used for injury to the brain.
The severity of the brain injury determines the treatment and management of the patient immediately after the injury occurs, following which a longer term assessment is made for reablement and rehabilitation.
Our team at Askham Rehab work closely with GPs and assessment teams in defining the rehab package most appropriate to the person and their goals. This is done in consultation with multi-disciplinary support teams, to ensure provision is appropriate and timely.
Our extensive reablement and rehabilitation facilities include a Physiotherapy Gym, a Hydrotherapy Pool, innovative robotics technology and stunning landscaped gardens, staffed by professional physiotherapy personnel.
With on-site accomodation, catering to a multitude of needs, clients are able to progress through our facilities as their rehabilitation progresses and their dependency reduces – all the while working towards improved dependency for the individual.
Alongside the above, we’re also part of the UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) and regular contributors to the Eastern Region Brain Injury Forum (ERBIF).
